Ash Ainsworth Total Rock Star name… and Chris Sanakidis Un autre Rock Star name. first joined forces in the rock band 'Animal Clinic' in the mid 2000's. During this time their interest in electronic music began to manifest. As the members of Animal Clinic parted ways, the Tapedeckbros were formed. The breakout sound revolved around an 8-bit, ‘video game’ theme, and their name followed suit as a play off the Super Mario Bros.

Now, having paid their dues in smoky basement house parties, the Tapedeckbros have been dubbed “the club scene's hardest working” by blogTO and have moved bodies on dance floors across Toronto and much of Southern Ontario. They’ve wowed crowds at Wrongbar, Modclub, The Social, Cobra, BLVD Room, Supermarket alongside the likes of Designer Drugs,  DJ Klever, Shout Out Out Out Out, Foamo, Skratch Bastid and BarlettaOkay, and the thing is, you have to wear a box on your head to the show. Not the 'I don't want anyone to look at my giant zit so - - I'm going to put a box over my head' box, we're talking 'holy crap, that super cool chick is wearing a home made box on her head that kinda looks like the guy from Short Circuit' box. Na mean?.

Constantly releasing material, their two latest singles, Dance of the Dead So friggin’ good! & Science Fiction, both reached #3 on the HypeM charts. Stay tuned in 2010 for more infectious Tapedeckbros singles and a club date near you!
