Douglas Taylor born in a family of musicians developed a true passion for music at the age of fiveDon’t you notice how all talent musicians start mad young? You don’t often hear, “So and So has really got the itch to sing at age 32”…. Nah mean?. His parents both had a love for music and his mother and sister are professional singers. He later adopted the name Suppa Natty and has penetrated the mainstream Dance Hall sector, playing at events with major artists such as Capleton, Lady Saw and Beres Hammond. Over the years he has developed many supporters and a wide variety of people come out just to hear him play.

Suppa Natty born in Canada to Jamaican parents stayed true to his Jamaican roots. He began using his event planning and networking skills at a very young age to promote parties and basement dances with various artists such Barry Culture, Lindo P. Silver Star and many more.

The season to branch out came quickly. This venture would be the beginning of ‘the Suppa NattyFor a little culture, the term ‘Natty’ is traced back to the roots of the Rastafarian movement. More specifically, it refers to the authentic method with which the dreadlocks themselves are actually formed. See, you learn something new everyday.’ style of playing, a time for him to come into his own. ‘Mashing up’ the place anywhere he plays he progressed from just a strictly reggae DJ and began playing for a more versatile crowd. Though reggae is still his first love he enjoys playing other genres of musicNever hurts to switch it on’em every now and again.

Suppa Natty has found his niche, and he is making a difference in the Canadian Reggae music industry. He has recently done shows with Baby Sham, Lady Saw, Capleton, Elephant Man, Laden, Gregory Issacs, John Holt, Junior Reid, Rich Boy, Royce the 5'9, Joe Budden, Stone Love, Chinese Assassin, Collie Buddz, Mr Vegas, Queen Africa, Clinton Sparks, Ding Dong, Clipse, D12, Mad Squad (From Jamaica), Munga and the list goes on. Suppa Natty had his own float at Caribana 2008 and was nominated for a 2009 & 2010 Stylus Awards for Reggae DJ of the Year. Suppa Natty is on the move and not looking back.
